As is our tradition, my husband, Ken, and I spent the holiday season at our vacation property in Lake of Bays, Ontario. Ken and I are not huge fans of snow and slush in the city, but there is something magical about snow when it blankets the countryside, all pristine and sparkly. I also love a white Christmas and we certainly had one again this year. The downside was the chilly temperatures, hovering near - 25° Celsius.
It was wonderful to spend time with friends and family, and to also have considerable time to work on my writing in a setting that has always been inspirational to me.
Ken and I had a wonderful winter getaway again this year. We spent two weeks at the end of February/beginning of March in the Caribbean. This trip was particularly enjoyable, as we had our friends Joan and Ron join us for the first of the two weeks. They are terrific people, and it was great spending time with them. During our trip, I completed my second manuscript, Everything to Gain. It brought back memories of how—just one year prior—while Ken and I were in Exuma in the Bahamas, Jane Karchmar, my editor with Genaral Store Publishing House, and I completed the final edit for Silver Linings. Ken and I consider ourselves very fortunate to have the opportunities and privileges we do, and we don’t take anything for granted.
I am also very grateful for all the support and positive feedback I have been receiving for Silver Linings. Entertaining people with my writing is a dream come true! I am thrilled when readers tell me they enjoyed Silver Linings and ask when my next novel is coming out. The good news is the manuscript for Everything to Gain is complete.
I want to acknowledge how much the support, encouragement and feedback I have been receiving since Silver Linings has been released means to me, and express a heartfelt thanks to everyone!
